Once a month, the microphone is yours.
Open Mic at Indus is a monthly evening of poetry, spoken word, and short prose, held on the terrace above the Tjampuhan valley. Hosted by the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival — one of Asia’s great literary gatherings — it is open to anyone with something to say and the courage to say it.
Established writers and first-timers share the same stage. The valley doesn’t judge. Neither do we.
Come to read, or come to listen. Both are equally welcome. The bar is open throughout. The kitchen serves until late.
Indus has been part of Ubud’s literary life since Janet DeNeefe founded the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival in 2004. Open Mic at Indus is where that story continues, every month, all year round.
