What's on Ubud

Supper Club

Where food and literature meet above the Tjampuhan valley.

Indus was founded by Janet DeNeefe, author, cook and founder of the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. For more than two decades, this terrace above the Tjampuhan valley has drawn writers, readers and travellers who understand that a good story and a good meal are not separate things.

The Indus Supper Club is that instinct made into an evening. Guest authors. Curated Balinese and Asian menus built around what Bali grows. Long conversations above the valley as the light goes and the jungle takes over.

No two evenings the same. Numbers kept small by design. The kind of dinner you don’t forget and can’t quite explain to people who weren’t there.

Reservations essential.

Ubud Writers And Readers Festival

One of Asia’s great literary gatherings. Indus is part of the family.

Janet DeNeefe didn’t just open a restaurant above the Tjampuhan valley. She built the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, one of Asia’s most celebrated literary events, drawing authors and readers from across the world to Ubud every year.

During festival week, Indus becomes what it has always been: a place where the conversation runs as long as the meal. Authors, publishers, poets, curious travellers. The valley below. The food worth staying for.

If you are coming to Ubud for the festival, book early.
